Libraries Change Lives Week 2024

Date: 24-28 June 2024

Venue: UK-wide

Description: “This summer’s week of advocacy will place libraries in full view for MPs, councillors and prospective political representatives ahead of elections this year so that libraries can demonstrate their value – both locally and nationally to the leaders of tomorrow.”

“We know that libraries and library staff change lives for the better. They not only provide access to books and other literature, but also help people to help themselves and improve their opportunities, bring people together, and provide practical support and guidance.

We need to provide practical case studies that demonstrate to an incoming Government how libraries are supporting some of the key priorities for policymakers.Join the Libraries Change Lives Week Campaign and submit a case study from your library.

This is open to all libraries across all sectors in the UK.

If your library has had a life-changing impact on your service users, either through an activity, an event, an initiative or an amazing member of staff, we would love to hear from you.

To submit your case study, please fill in the form https://www.cilip.org.uk/page/LCLW-casestudy

As part of the case study, we are asking you to submit:

  • A title and 150 word summary to be used to promote the campaign
  • Statistics, feedback, and any supporting information to showcase how your library has had a positive impact
  • Any images or photos that showcase the work (please make sure these are as high-resolution as possible)”
