Cultural Inclusion Manifesto – advocating for disability inclusion in arts

Date: 29 November 2024

Times: 10.00-15.30

Venue: Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AP

Description:

“The Cultural lnclusion Manifesto holds an annual event to bring together those committed to equal access to the arts for D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent children and young people. The event is unique in bringing together children, families, artists, educators and funders/policy makers – recognising that people can hold many of these titles at the same time.

This – the 5th annual conference – will include a young person panel; educators’ discussion; and displays from artists. It will be chaired by both a young person and a parent of children with disabilities/disabled children.

The event does not deny the horrors of disabilism, the brutality of cuts or the physical and other barriers to access. It does celebrate the work that beats these odds and recognises that art itself is a radical and campaigning act. The Manifesto itself is based on standing up to be counted and on connecting to others.

The full programme will be out late October.

Run by Cultural Inclusion CIC and a small team”
