“CyMAL: Museums Archives and Libraries Wales is a division within the Heritage Department of the Welsh Assembly Government. This Action Plan outlines how CyMAL will deliver the strategic priority to create 21st century museum, archive and library services in support of the objectives of the One Wales Agreement between 2008-2011 and contribute to other departmental priorities.
Museums, archives and libraries make an important contribution to the cultural and educational life of the community and as such their services are much valued by their users. CyMAL has developed close working relationships with national institutions, local authorities, higher and further education, professional bodies and the voluntary sector. These partnerships are at the heart of this Action Plan which will support innovative service development and improvements in line with Heritage Department key policies and strategies, including cross-cutting strategies for the Welsh language and sustainable development.”
