"You are invited to The Word, National Centre for the Written Word, where we will share our experience of developing this new cultural institution.
Since it opened late last year The Word has proved to be a huge success. In fact it has recently been voted as one of the most iconic libraries in England.

With 1600 visits on average per day we have seen a large increase in registered library users. There has also been an increase of 32% in library book issues, with issues of teenage fiction titles increasing by a huge 166%.

At this informative conference you will enjoy a tour of the building and its resources, along with presentations and talks on a series of subjects including:

• Cultural regeneration
• Library impact and improvement
• Architects Faulkner Brown and their approach to design
• Arts in Libraries and exhibition programme
• Digital offer: OpenZone @ The Word
• Questions and Answers

This is a free event, with space allocated on a first come first served basis. Lunch will be provided. To register your interest please email"
